NRI and Walker Attacked: A harrowing incident unfolded on Thursday evening in Malleswaram, west Bengaluru, as a 65-year-old Non-Resident Indian (NRI), visiting his son, fell victim to a nightmarish Rottweiler attack.
The unfortunate episode occurred while the NRI was out celebrating his friend’s birthday. Shockingly, within a matter of minutes, the same aggressive Rottweiler also attacked a 60-year-old man who happened to be walking nearby.

Law enforcement promptly took action, registering a case against the owner of the menacing Rottweiler, identified as Chandrashekar, a resident of Malleswaram. The charges were brought under IPC Section 289, which pertains to negligent conduct concerning animals.
The NRI, recounting the horrifying incident to the police, revealed that he and his friend were on their way to purchase a gift when the unprovoked attack occurred. The Rottweiler lunged at him on 4th Main at 8 p.m., biting him on the abdomen and tearing his shirt.
As the victim was in the process of reporting the incident to a Hoysala police patrol, the same ferocious dog targeted the 60-year-old passerby, inflicting injuries on him as well. Initially, Malleswaram police recorded a non-cognizable offence against Chandrashekar but later escalated the matter by filing a First Information Report (FIR).
A senior police officer disclosed that Chandrashekar has been summoned to appear before the investigating officer for further questioning. The investigation is ongoing, and once completed, a chargesheet will be filed against the dog owner.
