NRI and Accomplice : In Punjab, an NRI celebrating his wedding in Asal Uttar village reportedly shot and killed a 15-year-old boy, Surjit Singh, who was assisting a DJ at the event. The suspect, Akashdeep Singh, had returned from the USA for his marriage festivities.
The incident occurred during the Friday night celebration when Akashdeep, along with his friend Gurpreet Singh, demanded change from Surjit, who was collecting currency notes thrown during the festivities.
NRI and Accomplice Viral
When Surjit refused, Akashdeep allegedly instructed Gurpreet to shoot him with the revolver he was carrying. Gurpreet fired a shot at Surjit’s chest, resulting in his immediate death. Gurpreet also discharged three shots into the air. Both suspects fled the scene after the incident.
The police, led by Sub-Inspector Sunita Rani, registered a case under Sections 302 and 34 of the IPC and Sections 25, 54, and 59 of the Arms Act against Akashdeep and Gurpreet, residents of Assal Uttar village.
Akashdeep, planning to return to the USA a month after his wedding, now faces serious charges related to the minor’s murder.
Law enforcement is actively conducting raids to apprehend the suspects at possible hideouts. The tragic incident highlights the consequences of a celebratory event turning violent and underscores the need for responsible behaviour during festivities to prevent such unfortunate incidents.
