NLB Services Report Reveals : India’s Global Capability Centers (GCCs) are likely to defy economic headwinds and produce a substantial number of job opportunities in 2023, according to a new analysis released by NLB Services. While the IT sector suffers recessionary headwinds, GCCs are enjoying an upswing in recruiting, reflecting the country’s growing prominence as a preferred location for tech talent and worldwide expansion.
The first quarter results for the fiscal year have highlighted a discrepancy between Global Capability Centers and Indian IT services enterprises. With the latter mostly depending on existing talent pools, the hiring momentum for Global Capability Centers remains healthy.
Sachin Alug, the CEO of NLB Services, pointed out that the demand for specialist technology profiles has experienced a steady rise, with industries like automotive, banking, financial services, insurance, pharma, retail, energy, and telecom driving the need for talented personnel.
NLB Services’ analysis spanned over 1500 Global Capability Centers in India, with a stunning 78% of them deciding to build operations in the country to tap into its large talent pool. Moreover, almost 8% of Global Capability Centers intend to treble their staff throughout 2023, producing a stunning 3.64 lakh new employment.
India’s strength in cutting-edge technologies such as generative AI, quantum computing, robotic process automation, and blockchain has played a crucial role in encouraging GCCs to set up their centres in the country. This has enabled GCCs to access a superior talent pool, even while the West confronts limits in hiring due to persistent macroeconomic issues.
“Despite prevailing challenges in the global economy, India continues to prove itself as a talent powerhouse for GCCs,” asserted Sachin Alug. He further underlined the essential role played by data scientists, sustainability data analysts, statistical analysts, blockchain specialists, cybersecurity professionals, and AI/ML engineers in boosting the demand for specialized profiles.
