Indian Embassy in Israel Issue Alert

The Indian embassy in Israel issued a recommendation on Tuesday for Indian citizens employed in border regions of Israel to relocate to safer areas within the country.

This guidance follows an incident where an Indian national lost their life and two others sustained injuries due to an anti-tank missile launched from Lebanon by Hezbollah militants.

The attack occurred near the northern border community of Margaliot, with all three victims hailing from Kerala.

Citing the ongoing security situation and local safety advisories, the embassy advised all Indian nationals in Israel, particularly those residing or working in border regions in the north and south, to relocate to more safer places in the country.

The embassy affirmed its continuous communication with Israeli authorities to ensure the safety of Indian citizens.

Meanwhile, the Israeli embassy in India denounced the anti-tank firing from Lebanon as a cowardly act of terror and extended condolences to the affected families.

They expressed shock and sorrow over the death of an Indian national and the injury of two others in the attack by Hezbollah militants.

According to government statistics, approximately 13M Indian nationals are employed overseas in various capacities, including as labourers, professionals, and experts.

Last year, Israel and India signed an agreement permitting over 40K Indians to work in Israel, primarily in the nursing and construction sectors.
