Their deployment follows a government-to-government agreement, with praise extended to India’s National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) for facilitating the initiative.
While there’s no official confirmation on a concrete employment agreement, media reports previously suggested Israel’s interest in hiring 100K Indian workers amidst the aftermath of the Israel-Hamas conflict, aiming to replace Palestinian labourers.
Last month, India reiterated its focus on ensuring the safety of its citizens in Israel, especially in light of recent incidents, including the tragic death of an Indian in a missile attack reportedly launched by Hezbollah.
The External Affairs Ministry spokesperson, Randhir Jaiswal, emphasized the paramount importance of safeguarding the 18K caregivers and professionals already deployed in Israel.
As India and Israel continue to deepen their cooperation across various sectors, including labour and security, such initiatives underscore the evolving dynamics of their strategic partnership.
These developments not only contribute to economic growth but also enhance cultural exchanges and mutual understanding between the two nations.
