Inderjit: Innovating Social Dining and Entrepreneurship

Inderjit: From High School Dropout to Indo-Canadian Business Mogul

Inderjit Vasudevan Moorthy, born on October 24, 1982, in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India, is a beacon of entrepreneurial spirit. Rising from humble beginnings, Inderjit has transformed his life through sheer determination, passion for technology, and a keen understanding of the evolving world of social media. Today, he is the founder and CEO of Muster Technologies, Inc., a leading mobile app company that is gaining global attention. His journey from a high school dropout to a successful Indo-Canadian entrepreneur exemplifies resilience and innovation.

Early Life of Inderjit: A Story of Grit and Determination

Born to Vasudevan Moorthy and Kamala Moorthy, he spent his formative years in Anna Nagar, a neighborhood in the north-western part of Chennai. He attended SBOA Matriculation and Higher Secondary School, but formal education wasn’t where Inderjit found his passion. By the age of 15, he dropped out of school, a decision that many would have seen as the end of potential, but for Inderjit, it was just the beginning of something remarkable.

Despite not completing high school, Inderjit was determined to forge his own path. His interest in technology and business was evident early on, and he knew that real-world experience would be his greatest teacher.

The Start of a Remarkable Career: From Multimedia to Entrepreneurship

At the age of 19, Inderjit made his first foray into the business world by becoming a managing partner in Black Box, a multimedia company that specialized in 2D and 3D graphics. This experience sharpened his creative and managerial skills and laid the foundation for his future ventures.

However, Inderjit was never one to settle. His entrepreneurial spirit drove him to explore new industries and ideas. He launched Second Satellite, a business process outsourcing (BPO) company, and later, Treetop Consultancy Services, which offered voice and non-voice BPO services. Both ventures were highly successful, and Inderjit quickly established himself as a force to be reckoned with in the business world.

Embracing the Power of Social Media: The Launch of Ikebana Consulting

Inderjit’s ability to spot emerging trends was one of his greatest assets. In the early 2010s, he saw the potential of social media as a powerful marketing tool for businesses. He began freelancing as a social media marketing agent, helping businesses establish their online presence and engage with customers in innovative ways.

His success in this field led to a partnership with a retail chain, and together they launched IA Consulting, a social media agency that helped brands build their digital identity. IA Consulting was later rebranded as Ikebana Consulting, reflecting its evolution into a full-service digital marketing firm. Through Ikebana, Inderjit empowered numerous businesses to thrive in the digital age, leveraging the power of social media branding and marketing.

Muster Technologies: A Bold Venture into Mobile Apps

His entrepreneurial journey reached new heights with the founding of Muster Technologies in 2022. Muster is a mobile app designed to foster social connections through food and dining experiences. He recognized that while social media platforms allow people to connect online, there was still untapped potential for creating meaningful, real-world interactions. Muster aims to bridge that gap by encouraging users to connect with strangers and bond over shared meals.

Launched in mid-April, Muster quickly gained popularity, amassing over 100,000 downloads across iOS and Android platforms. Users from around the world have embraced the app, drawn to its unique approach to social dining.

His vision for the app is clear: “Connecting with strangers and bonding over food is a sure shot way to make new friends,” he explains. By blending technology with human connection, Inderjit has created a platform that is not only innovative but also deeply rooted in the timeless tradition of sharing meals.

Personal Life: From Chennai to Canada

In March 2014, he married Divya Vk, and shortly afterward, the couple relocated to Toronto, Ontario, Canada. This move marked a significant chapter in Inderjit’s life, as he transitioned from his entrepreneurial ventures in India to establishing himself in the Canadian business landscape. In 2022, Inderjit obtained Canadian citizenship, a milestone that solidified his identity as an Indo-Canadian entrepreneur.
