Illegal immigration centres have proliferated in Amritsar, Punjab, allegedly deceiving individuals with promises of overseas opportunities. DCP Dr. Vijay Alam Singh initiated FIR registration against four such centres in Ranjit Avenue.
The centres purported government approval without the necessary licenses, exploiting innocent people. Owners or managers of Success Mantra, Sodhi Immigration, E-education, and Wayzone, along with unidentified individuals, face charges under Sections 420 (fraud), 188 (defiance of public servant orders), and 120-B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code.

Dr. Singh emphasized ongoing surveillance on numerous centres, indicating further legal actions against similar establishments. The proliferation of such centres underscores the need for heightened vigilance and stricter regulatory measures to safeguard vulnerable individuals from exploitation.
Residents are urged to exercise caution and verify the credentials of immigration centres before engaging with them. The authorities advise individuals to report any suspicious activities or fraudulent practices to prevent further victimization.
