When we have temple gatherings and when we assemble to worship, we take great care to plan public events. We are constantly plagued by the worry, “What if someone shows up?”

Their primary goals are to strengthen security, encourage recognition, and empower the Hindu American community. COHNA seeks to allay the community’s concern by creating a platform to speak out for their rights and safety.

Prasad stresses the value of preserving their culture and history. “Our temples, our traditions, and our festivals, all of that is part of our cultural heritage,” she says. “We want to make sure that upcoming generations can freely and fearlessly practice their faith.”
The COHNA is making progress in its efforts to raise awareness of and provide solutions for Hindu Americans. They work to create a sense of security and representation by engaging the community, lobbying, and launching educational programs.
