Early Life and Education of Diya Beeltah
Growing up in Quatre Bornes, Diya Beeltah attended the Baichoo Madhoo Government School for her primary education. She then moved on to College Bon et Perpetuel Secours of Beau-Bassin for her secondary studies.
Her academic journey was marked by excellence and determination, which culminated in her earning a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management from the University of Mauritius (UOM) in 2011. Even while pursuing her bachelor’s degree, Diya was making her mark in the modeling world, showcasing her ability to balance academics and her burgeoning career.
Breakthrough in Modeling and Major Competitions
Diya Beeltah’s entry into the world of beauty pageants began in 2012. Her breakthrough came when she was crowned Miss Mauritius 2012 by Ameeksha Dilchand, Miss Mauritius 2011, at the Auditorium of J&J, Phoenix, on June 30, 2012.
Prior to winning the title, she had already impressed judges and audiences alike by winning the Best Dress Award and securing the runner-up position for the Miss Siren/Beach Beauty Award, both preliminary rounds of the Miss Mauritius contest.
Her reign as Miss Mauritius opened doors to international competitions. Diya was the first representative from Mauritius to compete in the Miss Tourism World 2012 Beauty Contest held in Thailand.
This event served as a prelude to her participation in Miss Universe 2013, held on November 9, 2013, at the Crocus City Hall, Krasnogorsk, a suburb of Moscow, Russia. As the official entry from Mauritius, Diya showcased her country’s culture and beauty on a global stage, earning admiration and respect from a worldwide audience.
Advocacy and Social Work
Beyond the glitz and glamour of beauty pageants, Diya Beeltah is deeply committed to social causes. Her role as Miss Mauritius 2012 extended beyond beauty and grace; she became a powerful advocate for road safety, appointed by the Mauritius Police Department and the Ministry of Public Infrastructure, National Development Unit, Land Transport and Shipping National Development Unit. Diya utilized her platform to raise awareness about road safety, becoming a national voice for this critical issue.
In addition to her work in road safety, Diya is passionate about combating the spread of HIV/AIDS. She collaborates with NGOs to support education and prevention initiatives, aiming to reduce the stigma associated with the disease and provide assistance to those affected. Her dedication to social work is driven by her belief that addressing poverty, providing quality education, and instilling proper values are essential steps toward solving the world’s social issues.
Aspirations and Future Goals
Diya Beeltah’s journey is far from over. With a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, she has expressed her intention to pursue a master’s degree in the same field. Her academic and professional aspirations include becoming a lecturer, where she can inspire and educate the next generation of leaders. Her experience as a research assistant at the University of Mauritius has equipped her with the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in this role.
