Canada Express Entry Draw Update

Canada Opens: The Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) conducted its second Express Entry draw of the week, inviting 975 candidates to apply (ITAs) specifically in the transport occupations category.

These candidates needed to meet a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 430 to qualify for the invitation.

Express Entry serves as an application management system for three key economic immigration programs in Canada: the Federal Skilled Trades Program, the Federal Skilled Worker Program, and the Canadian Experience Class.

In addition to the category-based draw for transport occupations, IRCC also issued ITAs on March 12 through a general draw, inviting 2,850 candidates. This type of draw encompasses candidates from all three Express Entry-managed programs, with the CRS score being the primary eligibility criterion.

For the general draw, candidates needed to achieve a minimum CRS score of 525, which represented a decrease of nine CRS points compared to the previous draw on February 28. It marked the lowest minimum CRS score for a general draw so far in the year.

February witnessed a total of six draws, beginning and ending with draws emphasizing candidates’ proficiency in the French language. The month also saw two category-based selections: one on February 14 for healthcare occupations and another on February 16 for agriculture and agri-food occupations.

These draws are part of Canada’s ongoing efforts to manage its immigration system effectively and attract skilled individuals across various sectors to contribute to the country’s economic growth and development.
