Trump Vows to Bar Hamas Supporters in Immigration Policy

Trump Targets Hamas Supporters in Presidential Campaign Promise

Trump Vows : In a stunning announcement during a campaign event in Iowa, former President Donald Trump pledged to overhaul US immigration policies if re-elected, vowing to prohibit immigrants who express support for Hamas from entering the United States. The move comes in the midst of escalating tensions in the Israel-Hamas conflict, with Trump aiming to take a strong stance against those he sees as sympathetic to the Palestinian militant group.

Trump Vows Comments on Hamas Supporters

“Americans have been disgusted to see the open support for terrorists among the legions of foreign nationals on college campuses,” Trump declared. “They’re teaching your children hate. Under the Trump administration, we will revoke the student visas of radical anti-American and anti-Semitic foreigners at our colleges and universities and we will send them straight back home.”

Furthermore, Trump stated his intention to deploy law enforcement officers to protests supporting Hamas, with the purpose of arresting and deporting immigrants who openly endorse the Palestinian militant group.

The Israel-Hamas war, which has witnessed significant violence and casualties, including over 1,300 Israelis and more than 2,800 Palestinians in Gaza, has put the Middle East at the forefront of global attention. Trump’s stance reflects his unwavering support for Israel and his commitment to cracking down on those who do not acknowledge Israel’s right to exist.

This is not the first time that Trump has taken a hardline approach to immigration. During his first term as President from 2017 to 2021, he faced legal challenges for his travel ban on immigrants from select Muslim-majority countries, which was eventually upheld by the US Supreme Court. However, his successor, President Joe Biden, revoked the ban upon taking office.

Now, in his renewed bid for the White House, Trump has expanded his immigration policy to include not just a ban on immigrants from Libya, Somalia, Syria, and Yemen but also from any other nation perceived as a security threat. His campaign message also included a recitation of a poem comparing immigrants to dangerous snakes, as reported by Reuters.

Trump’s promise to enact significant changes to US immigration laws includes disqualifying individuals who seek to abolish the state of Israel, support Hamas, or hold anti-Semitic views. He also added, “If you’re a communist, Marxist, or fascist, you are disqualified.”

The United States, along with several other countries, has designated Hamas as a terrorist organization, which underscores the gravity of Trump’s proposal.

Meanwhile, US President Joe Biden has announced his upcoming visit to Israel and Jordan, amidst a deteriorating humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip and escalating tensions as Israel prepares for a potential ground offensive in the 141-square-mile territory.
